Overview

Koch Associate Program: 2023-2024

The Koch Associate Program (KAP) is a career accelerator for early to mid-career professionals with a drive to tackle our country’s most pressing challenges in more effective, principled ways. KAP equips associates with the tools, mindsets, and community to succeed as social entrepreneurs—individuals excited to find new and better ways to break barriers and eliminate injustice. Associates spend one day each week engaging in experiential learning with Stand Together Fellowships and work at one of our many partner organizations the rest of the week. Our curriculum is designed to supercharge your development and equip you for long-term success as you seek to have an impact on the problems that prevent people from realizing their potential.

What You’ll Experience

By blending professional development with full-time employment at a dynamic nonprofit, KAP will not only equip you with the tools, frameworks, and ideas to be more effective, but will provide you with real-world opportunities to apply what you’re learning through meaningful work. Here’s a snapshot of what you will experience:

  • Full-time employment at one of our partner organizations doing meaningful work in areas like Criminal Justice, Immigration, Poverty, Free Speech, Trade, and more. Typically, there are both remote and in-person roles ranging from policy, communications, fundraising, events, law, project management and beyond
  • Mentorship from an experienced leader to develop your unique skills and work towards advancing your long-term goals
  • Community-building with peers and our expansive alumni network
  • Learning and applying the principles of Principle Based Management to maximize your contribution to your organization’s success, no matter your role
  • Concentrations: Those select few social entrepreneurs who enter KAP with past experience and demonstrated interest in areas like technology policy, foreign policy, and K-12 education might have the opportunity to participate in concentration-specific sessions to expand their knowledge, meet with experts, and build connections in their industry

About You

You are looking for a career that helps others improve their lives. Whether your passion for social impact involves revitalizing communities, government, education, or business, you have a drive to identify problems and get excited about finding new solutions that have meaningful results. You’re entrepreneurial, curious, and excited to become an effective leader in tackling the major challenges of our time.

Qualifications You’ll Bring to the KAP Experience

  • You are geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States
  • You’re a lifelong learner with a growth mindset, dedicated to continual self-improvement
  • You seek knowledge from any and all sources to help you learn and improve your thinking
  • You enjoy collaborating with people of diverse perspectives
  • You’re excited to take initiative and solve problems, embracing and driving positive change
  • You’re interested in and passionate about solving the most pressing issues our society faces, transforming our world and impacting the lives of others

Since much of the KAP program will remain online from September 13, 2023 - May 16, 2024, participants do not need to reside in the Washington, DC area to be admitted to our programs. However, participants should plan to participate in multiple in-person summits and workshops at Stand Together headquarters in Arlington, VA, consistent with relevant public health policies and conditions around COVID-19. Our team is continuously monitoring the situation and will provide updates if that status changes. We believe in-person experiences enhance the impact of programming, especially on participants’ ability to build and tap into an effective learning community. Stand Together Fellowships covers the cost of travel, hotel, and meals for those traveling to these gatherings.

Standout Associates May Also Bring

  • Prior work experience related to advancing our vision
  • Aptitude for leadership demonstrated through prior experience, either professional or outside the workplace

Successful candidates will interview with both Stand Together Fellowships staff and partner organizations, so we encourage you to apply today, giving yourself ample time to thoroughly explore the opportunities offered by our partners and find the role that’s best for you! Please complete your application through our website and check out our FAQs for more details.
